Elvanfoot
Phase 1 of the Proposed Development was consented in February 2025 and comprises the construction and operation of a 9.8MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).
Phases 2 & 3 comprise the construction and operation of BESS, with indicative storage capacities of 49.9MW and 25MW respectively. A planning application for Phase 2 was submitted in February 2026 and a separate planning application was submitted for Phase 3 in March 2026. Both proposals are currently awaiting determination, with decisions expected later this year.
Location: South Lanarkshire
The Proposed Development is ideally located to maximise the benefit of nearby renewable energy generation projects, including our Priestgill Wind Farm project . Both the Proposed Development and Priestgill Wind Farm will share existing and proposed infrastructure, with both connecting via a kiosk to the recently extended Elvanfoot Substation.
