Crossdykes Wind Farm officially opened
Crossdykes Wind Farm was officially opened on Wednesday 6th October 2021 by Michael Matheson MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Net Zero, Energy and Transport with a little help from Applegarth Primary pupil Matilda and our very own Managing Director Chris Walker.
We were thrilled to welcome the Scottish Government Cabinet Secretary for Net Zero, Energy and Transport, Michael Matheson MSP and the local community to celebrate the official opening of Crossdykes Wind Farm. Through ownership of 5% of the project, local communities will benefit from a share of the wind farm’s profits each year in addition to an industry leading community benefit package.
This ownership stake is the largest community investment in renewables since 2017, and the first time in Scotland that a community has bought into a subsidy-free wind farm. We are pleased to announce that we have been shortlisted this week for the Best Engagement Award at the Scottish Green Energy Awards in recognition of this great step forward for Community Shared Ownership.
