Full Details of Position

The Legal Manager position may choose to be based in either our main office in South Lanarkshire or our south of Scotland office, in Hawick, or a combination of both. An agile working pattern is optional, subject to a minimum number of days in the office per week.

Role overview:

Reporting to the Head of Legal, you will support and collaborate with team members across the business to meet the business’s legal needs, providing commercial and pragmatic solutions at pace in a complex environment, to inform and promote business objectives and ensure legal compliance.

• Managing all property aspects of strategic projects (financial closes and corporate transactions) with the in-house legal team and external counsel.

• Ability to operate with autonomy and independence, as well as collaborating with the wider team.

• Using, managing, and adopting intellectual technology solutions to create opportunities and efficiencies within the legal function and business generally.

• Ability to operate in a fast paced and dynamic environment.


You will be a lawyer admitted to practice in Scotland.

• Ideally you will have circa 3+ years PQE gained in real estate with renewables transactions in either a commercial law firm or in-house position.

• A demonstrable passion for renewables and a practical understanding of the renewables landscape.

• Personal credibility and the ability to inspire trust and respect of team members, displaying strong legal, commercial, and business understanding with the ability to provide clear advice and support.

• Sound legal judgement and interpersonal and negotiation skills, including the ability to influence, set an example for, and train team members in other areas of the business.

• Self-motivated and well organised with the ability to handle multiple, high-priority projects while attending to details and able to prioritise tasks and work well under pressure.
